The man was hit while attempting to cross the road near 690 Rt. 46 westbound in Parsippany-Troy Hills around 7:35 p.m., Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said.
He sustained severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, Carroll said.
The man was not in a designated crosswalk when he was hit, Carroll said.
His name has not been released.
